Ghostbusters Italia Fan Film
Director Fede Anzini and VFX Artist Fabrizio Fioretti were asked by the Ghostbusters Italia Fan Club to help create a memorable sequel to their much-loved first Ghostbusters Italia Fan Film, with the official endorsement of Sony Pictures’s Ghost Corps this film was on a much larger scale. It was a real pleasure to provide CGI, VFX, and Technical Support while also testing out new workflows/pipelines. The final film was a huge success, staying faithful to the 1980s classics and resonating with fans so much so, that it led to a limited cinema release and festival run.
Below is a short cgi/vfx reel of some of the work we did.
Visual Development
Main Villain Concept 01 – ‘Steve’
Not every concept makes it to production. This was going to be the final villain for the Ghostbusters Italia film but was changed early on. The idea was that Steve was going to start in a smaller, more human form, before changing into larger more powerful demonic-looking form as he battles with the Ghostbusters.
As the script continued to evolve the main villain changed, to more classical Ghostbusters lore, with the villain now based on the iconic Ifrit demon.

La Vecchia ‘Armida’ Ghost Concept ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is ‘La Vecchia ‘Armida’, which translates to The Old Armida, who’s based on the story of Armida Rosalia Berardi…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
Born in 1889, in Ragusa, a small town in Italy, Armida owned a small bazaar shop called Berardi since the early 1920’s, and stood there until her death in 1983, where now stands a modern shopping centre. Anyone who knew Armida, describes her as an enigmatic, solitary, quiet, and quite an intolerant woman, especially towards children, which made her an object of ridicule among locals. Her peculiar character earned her the label ‘witch’, with local rumours that the shop was only a cover-up so she could practice the supernatural arts to which she was dedicated and that over time this passion led her to madness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
She died inside her shop on February 14, 1983, when a blaze broke out, burning the shop to the ground, Armida burned alive inside, it was never uncovered what was the cause of the fire with any certainty, rumours spread, with some even insinuated that there could be some connection with the construction of the shopping centre a few years after the accident.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some security guards and cleaners of the new shopping centre, swear to have seen a humanoid figure floating between the various departments after closing time and from the testimonies, some believe it could really be the spirit of Armida, with the figure described as horribly deformed, with clothes burned onto its skin.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
